The very first step in our process is to get to know you, your property, your functional requirements (do you like to switch bedroom lights off from the bed?), your quality aspirations and your style preferences. Through an in-depth meeting, property viewing and our Stylefinder process we are able to articulate the project brief in detail and summarise your desired style within the setting of your Georgian property. We have four broad style categories into which most people fall;
Contact us to find out which one you are and what that means.
Working with your brief we produce our initial design ideas per room. Inspiration images, a colour palette, hard finishes, joinery, furniture, lighting and soft furnishings. These are presented in both digital and tangible formats with concept board and design board being electronic and sample trays for accurate representation. We also provide indicative costings at this stage. We understand that it is essential to know the likely cost levels of a design from the earliest point in the process.
Also presented at the first design meeting are our thoughts on the way the house will flow from space to space. How each room will best be arranged to meet the way you would like to live in the house. Overlaid on top of the layouts are the points and types of all lighting and electrical points. We will have thought through where you might have a Christmas Tree and need extra sockets, where your TV’s will be and where you might want to charge your devices.
Once you are happy with the design concepts, we can detail things to scale on elevations. These are invaluable for you to see the scale of items such as chandeliers and furniture. We are able to show the heights of light switches and sockets, the size of fireplaces and overmantle mirrors and even the ideal size of artworks required. We also draw up all joinery elements.
As part of this stage we finalise all specifications and fully detail all costings right down to the last door- knob.
Once signed off by you these drawings are issued for tendering of trades (if required) and ultimately for them to work from once they have been appointed.
We can offer full project management of all trades up to and including decorating works and second fix lighting and heating elements. We also offer weekly or monthly progress meetings in addition to management of specialist trades, specialist decorators, curtain and carpet fittings and to oversee the installation of all furniture, art and mirrors.
