Our team boasts a wealth of Georgian interiors expertise which we apply nationwide to Georgian and Regency buildings of all shapes and sizes. Our projects, which are always driven by our clients’ ambitions, include anything from hotels and houses to country estates and luxury apartments. We can get involved from the outset using our vast experience on listed consent, interior architecture, design, procurement, project management and installation. We work for clients nationwide on a myriad of Georgian and Regency properties.
Our approach is inspired by left brain/right brain thinking. Our team is structured to achieve all the elements a project needs from brief to detailed design, construction, procurement, project management and final installation.
Our design team, led by our founder Sarah Latham, is the right – an experienced creative force that interprets the client brief with flair and inspiration. Whilst our FF&E and project management team is the left – accuracy, technical ability, foresight and organisation that ensures every project runs smoothly.
The combination of these teams and talents is rare but we believe it is essential in delivering projects whilst ensuring the process is enjoyable, efficient and inspiring.
The very first step in our process is to get to know you, your property, your functional requirements, your quality aspirations and your style preferences. Through an in-depth meeting, property viewing and our Stylefinder process we are able to articulate the project brief in detail and summarise your desired style within the setting of your Georgian property. We have four broad style categories into which most people fall;
Contact us to find out which one you are and what that means.
Informed by the feedback from your Stylefinder session and your brief, we produce our initial design ideas per room.
Our presentation includes images that have inspired the scheme, a colour palette, hard finishes, joinery style, furniture images, lighting images and soft furnishings.
These are presented in both digital and tangible formats: the concept board and design board are electronic, and the sample trays contain all the materials, colours, fabrics and finishes that you need to see and touch to get an accurate representation.
To enable you to give informed feedback, we also provide indicative costings at this stage.
At the first design meeting, we also present our thoughts on the way the house could flow from space to space and how each room can best be lit and arranged to meet the way you would like to live in the house.
We then plan, design and overlay the electrical points and lighting positions onto these plans.
Our thinking includes 5-amp lamp circuits, dimming controls, TV and phone points, where you might have a Christmas Tree and need extra sockets, whether bedside switching is required, where your TVs will be positioned and where you might want to charge your devices.
Once you are happy with the design concepts, we detail all items to scale on elevations. These are invaluable for you to see the size of elements of the scheme such as chandeliers and furniture. We are able to show the heights of light switches and sockets, the size of fireplaces and over-mantle mirrors and even the ideal size of artworks required.
We are experts in designing a myriad of types of joinery for Georgian properties. We’ve enjoyed designing and specifying beautiful dressing rooms, smart and secure gun rooms, practical and stylish kitchens, well organised boot rooms and we love to design a bespoke vanity unit for a bathroom. Creating designs that are unique to you but that feel like they belong to the property is where we add value. We have a number of talented and trusted joinery teams and cabinet makers that we work with to produce the highest quality pieces and installations.
As part of this stage we finalise all specifications and fully detail all costings right down to the smallest details.
Once signed off by you, these drawings can be used within a tendering by trades as well as used as a blueprint and reference once they are appointed.
Alternatively, where you have your own contractors and you are happy to oversee their work and progress, our involvement is still required, albeit to a lesser degree. We undertake the specification and procurement of all hard finishes, joinery, furniture, lightings and soft furnishings with our many suppliers. We co-ordinate all deliveries so that items arrive on time for installation or are stored appropriately until required. We liaise with the on site contractors who will be installing the items; supplying spec sheets, delivery timings and technical details in order that they have all of the information they need to carry out the required works.
We can offer full project management of all trades up to and including all bathrooms, kitchens, spas, lighting and heating elements and the installation of all loose fittings, furnishings, furniture art and mirrors. This includes the management of our teams of specialist trades, specialist decorators, curtain and carpet fitters.
