Interior design in Bath

When we started Etons of Bath way back, there were three main reasons why we chose to practice interior design in Bath and make it our home. As interior designers in Bath and specialists in the local Georgian houses, we are right where we need to be and love to be. Here are the top three reasons why:

1. We love Georgian interiors

Whilst we work nationally on Georgian home interiors of all shapes and sizes, our interior designers in Bath love the overall symmetry and Georgian splendour of Bath as a source of inspiration. Until George IV got bored of Bath and moved the party scene to Brighton Pavilion, Bath was at the centre of the royal season (see Netflix’s Bridgerton). Bath’s grand houses and architecture were designed to provide prowess and comfort to the city’s visitors and many of the homes and hotels in Bath still do the very same today.

We love working in the centre of Bath and our studio and team of 18 designers and project managers are based in Bath’s Walcot Street. We’re fortunate to get the chance to soak up inspiration from Bath’s Georgian buildings and interiors whether on our commute, walk to lunch or at weekends with the family.

We believe that anyone who buys a Georgian house in Bath becomes its next custodian in a long line of owners. It’s now their chance to improve the house and stamp their own creative mark on the Georgian interiors. Plus, within the constraints of listed consents, our interior designers in Bath enable clients to shape the internal architecture and configuration to better suit their lifestyle. Etons of Bath has designed the interiors of many of the large houses in Bath and relish the opportunity to help clients realise their ambitions for their interiors in Bath.

2. We love living, working and designing interiors in Bath

We have a team of 18 designers, architects, project managers and installers at Etons. Most of us live in and around Bath and its surrounding villages. We live and breathe the Georgian houses, hotels (we redesigned The Queensberry Hotel in Bath last year) and interiors of Bath every day and love its symmetry and the honey coloured hues of the myriad of ashlar-clad frontage.

When it comes to practicing interior design in Bath, we’re lucky enough to see the interiors of Georgian houses of all shapes and sizes (here’s a few to look at) when clients and buyers come to us for our initial thoughts on the ‘art of the possible’ with the Georgian interiors. Whether the brief is a more classic restoration or even a contemporary design, we’re able to apply our skills and experience to bringing out the very best from the (often) high-ceilinged rooms.
