Drawing Room

In the drawing room, a large-scale antique mirror, simply framed, sits above a contemporary Bath stone fireplace and reflects the dramatic pendant light at the centre of the room. Italian-inspired furniture and a softly monochromatic palette create a composed backdrop for the clients’ collection of art and sculpture.

Art, Light and Architectural Balance

The room was designed to feel quiet rather than decorative, allowing the architectural proportions, artwork and sculptural lighting to carry the scheme. The restrained palette gives the space a calm, contemporary quality while remaining sympathetic to the Georgian setting.

A Georgian Apartment Reimagined with Contemporary Restraint

Our remit focused on one of three apartments within a late Georgian Grade II listed country house in Somerset, newly created as part of the building’s conversion from a school, which had occupied the property until the early 2000s.

Our clients shared a passion for art and sculpture. Through our Stylefinder process, we established a preference for a more minimal interior language, with calm colour palettes, contemporary furniture forms and sculptural lighting.
