Creating Cohesion Across Individual Guest Rooms
Because the hotel had evolved from three separate townhouses, the guest rooms varied considerably in scale, layout and character. Spaces that had once served entirely different domestic purposes had been adapted into bedrooms and bathrooms, which created a need for greater cohesion across the hotel as a whole.
Our challenge was to give each room individuality while ensuring that even the smaller bedrooms conveyed a sense of richness and occasion consistent with the grandeur of the public areas.

Guest Rooms with Individual Character
Each bedroom was designed with its own distinct personality. Bold wallpapers, characterful lighting, luxuriously upholstered headboards and carefully chosen seating introduced colour, comfort and individual style without losing sight of commercial practicality.

Bathrooms with Confidence and Charm
The bathrooms were treated with equal confidence, bringing moments of flamboyance and charm while maintaining a clear and consistent feel through the repeated use of the same floor tiling and sanitaryware brand.

A Varied but Recognisable Collection
The result was a collection of bedrooms that felt varied rather than formulaic, but unmistakably part of the same hotel. Returning guests could enjoy the pleasure of discovering a different room on each visit while still recognising the same standard of comfort, quality and design throughout.
