Entrance Hall and Hallway
One of the first priorities was to reinstate the proper hierarchy of the house. The magnificent entrance hall had long been used as an informal sitting room, a function that diminished both its scale and its sense of arrival. Reinstating this space allowed its architectural presence to be fully appreciated once again.

Drawing Room
The drawing room remains one of the most admired rooms in our portfolio. At its centre was a beautiful but badly deteriorated decorative ceiling, which was painstakingly restored by a team of highly skilled craftspeople. Our interior scheme was deliberately composed to support rather than compete with this extraordinary feature. A blue and cream palette, rich blue silk wallcovering, gilded overmantel mirror and beautifully restored timber floor created a room of considerable elegance, while ensuring the ceiling remained the undisputed focal point.

A Lighter Touch Across the House
Although the house possessed moments of real grandeur, the clients’ taste was never ornate. They preferred restraint over excess and were drawn to interiors that felt calm and comfortable. Across the remaining rooms, we adopted a lighter touch, allowing the architecture, proportions and historic detail to speak clearly, while introducing furnishings that made the house feel relaxed and lived in by a modern family.

Library
Existing panelling, which was in poor condition, was carefully restored and redecorated. Wall lights and bespoke joinery were sensitively integrated, while a reproduction fireplace was specified and installed to reflect the style of the original fireplaces that had survived elsewhere in the house. Soft lighting and a cosy palette, layered with fabrics inspired by a hunting, shooting and fishing country aesthetic, create an intimate and characterful space.

Bedrooms
The bedrooms show the softer private spaces within the house, where historic proportion is balanced with calm colour, comfort and contemporary family life.

Bathrooms
Clean and simple in design these refurbished and newly created bathrooms were designed to be comfortable and practical and fit the needs of the family with each room having its own ensuite
