Hallways and Stairs

We created new and completely transformed existing bathrooms to ensure that our clients and their guests enjoyed a luxurious, timeless and relaxing experience that felt elegant and effortless. From layout and proportion to materials, lighting and brassware every design decision played its part.

Kitchen

The kitchen gallery shows the more contemporary extension within the project, balancing practical family living with the classical character of the main house.

Dining Room

In the dining room, the aim was to create atmosphere and a sense of drama. A gold chinoiserie feature wall works to reflect ambient light, creating a soft glow amongst those being entertained, while a camelback sofa and theatrical swags and tail curtains bring richness, softness and a classical nuance to the space.

Drawing Room

The drawing room was designed to feel light and airy using a classic and sophisticated palette of pale blue-green with cream. The large room was laid out with two seating areas to give a more balanced feel and completed with layered furnishings, period detailing and soft decorative elements continuing the lift the character of this home.

study

The study was created to be a more intimate space, with bespoke joinery, including a hidden jib door through to the dining room, rich, darker tones and ‘gentleman’s club’ lighting providing a quieter contrast to the larger entertaining spaces.

Bedrooms

The bedroom show the softer, more private side of the farmhouse, with fabric, colour, furniture and proportion used to create restful rooms with individual character.

Bathrooms

The bathroom gallery shows how practical spaces were treated with the same attention to proportion, detailing and finish as the principal rooms.

Indoor Swimming Pool

The indoor swimming pool was inspired by the clients’ stay at The Gainsborough Bath Spa. Its classical columns, sweeping staircase and stone alcoves were all conceived and detailed by us, then realised through a carefully considered combination of natural stone and exceptionally convincing faux finishes.

We curated a bespoke mix of mosaics for the interior of the pool with the gold leaf mosaic in that mix used to pick out the edges of the steps. Sculptural lighting and a classical mirror combined with furniture suited to a Georgian Orangerie complete the look.

A Former Stone Farmhouse Reimagined for Classical Country Living

Formerly a stone farmhouse in a Northumberland village, the owners of this house asked us to remodel, extend and modernise their house whilst retaining and enhancing its key Georgian features and proportions. We acted as the clients’ principal design partner throughout, appointing architects and surveyors where specialist detailing and listed building consent were required.

Having last been decorated 30 years previously, our brief was to create a luxurious, classically inspired main house balanced by a more contemporary kitchen extension and dedicated wellbeing wing, which included a swimming pool, steam room, sauna and cinema. We successfully delivered the whole project within an 18-month timeframe.
